Ellen K. Lin, Ph.D., PLLC

Background

Dr. Lin earned her Doctorate and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  She completed her Psychology Internship and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of California at San Diego.  She completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California at Irvine.

Dr. Lin has over a decade of experience working in Higher Education settings as a therapist, consultant, and administrator before her transition to private practice in the Bellevue/Redmond area in 2006.  In addition, she has direct experiences working in community mental health, rehabilitation, and other agency settings.  

She is a Licensed Psychologist in the states of Washington and California.  Dr. Lin is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Washington State Psychological Association (WSPA).

Therapeutic Approaches 

Dr. Lin's counseling style is collaborative and grounded in mindfulness based cognitive therapy, internal family systems, and multicultural theories.  In addition to the traditional talk therapy, she uses experiential exercises including meditation, tapping, and body-focused practices to facilitate self understanding, healing, and change.  She takes into account individual backgrounds, values, and beliefs to jointly establish goals for therapy.
